- After a slightly cooler weekend, temperatures next week will
  climb into the triple digits most locations each afternoon next
  week. Heat Advisories are likely, as the effects of heat are
  cumulative, and present an increasing risk of heat-related
  illnesses.

- Rain chances will be slim to none.

Water vapor imagery shows the upper-level ridge centered near the
Four Corners region. This will continue to provide very warm
temperatures this afternoon. However, the ridge axis has shifted
north a little since yesterday, allowing for many spots to stay out
of the triple digits. By Sunday, the upper ridge builds south,
increasing heights and yielding highs a couple of degrees warmer
than today`s. Aside from the heat, southeasterly upslope flow and a
couple of minor disturbances rounding the periphery of the ridge may
yield isolated convection over the western higher terrain Sunday
afternoon. Otherwise, the rest of the area remains dry.

The forecast remains unchanged since the last forecast package.
Upper-level ridging is expected to strengthen aloft, yielding
widespread triple digit temperatures each afternoon. As per usual,
the hottest locations are anticipated to be in the river Valleys
where highs near 105 degrees can be seen along the Pecos River and
up to 110 degrees in low-lying spots of the Big Bend. Temperatures
fluctuate a degree or two each day depending on where the ridge axis
shifts. Additional Heat Advisories will likely be warranted next
week as many spots are expected to meet criteria. Rain chances
remain minimal and most stay dry throughout the extended. Overnight
lows well into the 70s continue to be forecast each night.
